the developer mentioned that the final game was supposed to be much longer but they split it in half so they could release it sooner, since the development was already taking a long time. i heard a sequel presumably containing the second half of the game is in the works, so maybe we'll see more background info n stuff there.

you're right. the creator stated on their tumblr that min is non binary and uses she/her pronouns. min is still very much a lesbian either way.
